HOW TO HELP AS AN INDIVIDUAL, FAMILY AND COMMUNITY:
Our family have been praying for an opportunity to help our brothers and sisters in Fiji affected by Cyclone Winston. Like all of you, our hearts ache for everyone affected by Cyclone Winston and yearn to help whatever way we can with the very little that we have in hand.
And the answer to our prayers came last Friday when my Aunty MV & I received an email from our dear Fijian Friend ST with the following: ..... I am helping out a close family.. I am doing a donation drive for our Village called Daliconi Village of Vanuabalavu island Fiji...we are grateful for donations old clothing /Shoes/ Linen / towels / torches anything you feel that will help them get back on their feet. .we have boxes here at the shop or text or inbox us as we can pick up. ..to update you .. First communication our village was on Wednesday since cyclone on Saturday. .. 32 houses only 6 is structurely safe to use. ..food rations was to be there at lunch time today. ..please share with your friends. ...For pick up, text me on 0451 *** *** or fb. Thank you...
Straight away our beautiful Aunty MV organised for our family to come together last night and combine our weekly Monday Night Family Home Evening and bring with us anything at home that we can send to someone in need in Fiji. We spent our evening sorting out what we have and packing them in to boxes. What a great bunch we have! Between all of us we managed to pack 10 Boxes include:
- Women Clothes
- Kids Clothes
- Mens Clothes
- Warm Clothes
- Sleeping Bags
- Kids Blankets
- Men Shoes
- Women Shoes
- Kids Shoes
Our night ended with sharing dinner prepared by the men in the family with a heart full of gratitude for what we have and what we're able to give. What an honor and a beautiful experience to be able to give service together with your family with the very little that we have to people in need.
If your family want to do the same with your family or as individual or within your community - please let me know and I can refer you to our contact ST who I'm sure will be happy to assist.
If you're feeling down today please count your blessings and know that the things you take for granted someone else is praying for.
Here's few photos we took last night - thanks for reading and please #prayforfiji
